We have had a lovely time in Townsville & Alva Beach with family and friends. Beach life is hard work...with walks on the beach, rides on the 4-wheeler, swimming and a few beverages of an evening. Ok so it pretty awesome. But we were off the grid with no phone or internet reception. So it's nice to be back :)
We spent Monday night in Home Hill and got away early, arriving in Proserpine just before 7am. Coincidently we stopped at the park just across from the cute 'Sunrise Pharmacy' which opened at 7am. Stella & I went in for a chat with Stuart the pharmacist, while Zane made coffee. We scored ourselves a free pen (we were looking for some Bioglan Airborne immunity but no such luck. Pretty stoked about the pen though).
Next stop was Mackay to see friends. Then we headed to Hay Point to visit Lisa. Lisa was my 'unofficial' pharmacist preceptor in Ayr. She and her husband have since moved to Hay Point and have bought Coal Port Pharmacy. She runs the place on her own - no other staff. The script trade is small but she keeps herself busy. There is always a job to be done in pharmacy! The place looks great too. There is a medical centre going up next door so I imagine business will boom once there is a GP in town.
We drove on to Clairview, a tiny town about 90km South of Sarina. Our plan is to set up camp here for a few days. Considering how long the set-up took, I'd say we'll stay a while! It's a beautiful spot, right near the beach with plenty of breeze thankfully. I think we will all sleep well tonight!
